The Hunger Games and 30 Rock star and mom to Felix, age 18 months, gushes about her first year of motherhood, surrogacy, and her guilty pleasures.

How has being a mom changed your life?
It has changed in every way.  Being a mom really clarifies what is important. I guess it has made me more clear on what I want to do with my time– if I’m not going to be with Felix, I want to be doing something worthwhile.

How did you come up with the name Felix?
I give all the credit to my husband.  However, I did study Latin and Felix means lucky and happy--two things that he makes us feel.

You had a great first experience with your surrogate.  Would you consider having another child?
I don't know where life is going to take us. I don't have another choice, so I would definitely go that route again if we decided to have another child.

Do you have any advice for couples looking into using a surrogate?
Keep it professional.

You’re a former Girl Scout, and you’re teaming up with Nestle Crunch to promote their new Girl Scout Cookie-flavored candy bars. What’s your favorite Girl Scout Cookie?
Samoas for sure!  Stick them in your freezer and later pound them up and serve over ice cream, they are the best topping!

What is the best parenting advice you have ever received?
Be open to any help.  Many moms today feel they have to be super moms, while historically we’ve always had a village to pitch in.  I think it’s really important to know when to ask for help.

What's your guilty pleasure?
Besides caffeine, stupid movies and viral online videos.

What's been your proudest accomplishment so far as a mom?
I’m proud just getting through every day.  I'm proud my son is a really great sleeper. He sleeps for 12 hours, but I give him 60 percent of the credit.  He’s also a really good traveler.

What's your biggest parenting concern?
Over parenting.  You just have to let it go sometimes. If Felix gets a bite of refined sugar in a cookie or something when we’re out--which he’s not allowed to have at our house--I let it go.
