Screen Play App of the Week: Dinopedia

Dinopedia

Works on: iPad

Cost: $4.99

For: Those curious about any dinosaur that ever lived

You would expect a pretty high quality app from the folks at National Geographic, but Dinopedia goes above and beyond expectations with this hugely informative and comprehensive app. For any little kid, or adults for that matter, curious about dinosaurs, Dinopedia provides an encyclopedia of knowledge about more than 700 dinosaurs.

The artwork is very realistic and there are facts about each dinosaur that you can read and/or have read to you (by someone with a very dramatic voice). In addition to details about each prehistoric animal, you can see a “Family Tree” of dinosaur lineage, search by name and even watch short video clip simulations of how certain dinosaurs acted and sounded.

The $4.99 price is steep as far as apps go, but with the sheer amount of data and cool graphics available, it’s totally worth the price.

If you have an app that you’d like considered for Screen Play, please contact LetsPlugIn@gmail.com.
