Screen Play App of the Week: Toca Kitchen
December 15, 2011

Works on: iPhone and iPad
For: Kids who like to help out in the kitchen
Toca Boca is at it again with the launch of yet another fantastic app. Officially launching today, Toca Kitchen brings the art of food and cooking to kids' budding inner chefs and lets them help out in a virtual kitchen. It's up to kids to figure out what foods most appeal to the app's funny cast of characters that includes a girl, boy, cat and a persnickety bull that has a penchant for hay.
Kids must drag foods from the fridge to whatever cooking method they think will appeal most to their character, like blending, boiling, frying or microwaving. The chosen character will eat the food and approve or make a sour face and clearly disapprove. There's a variety of options and food combinations possible, but with a chef's instinct and a willingness to prepare yummy food for each character, Toca Kitchen proves that it's more fun than ever to play with food.
(Full disclosure: These apps were developed by Toca Boca, a division of our parent company Bonnier in Sweden.)
