Whiny Tweets Galore Over Disappointing Christmas Gifts
December 28, 2011

If you were expecting something for Christmas, but didn’t get it, would you publicly express your disappointment on Twitter? If the answer to that is no (hopefully), check out the many people who had no qualms doing so. Apparently, this is not the "most wonderful time of the year" for many - and they were not afraid to let their followers know.
Thanks to the efforts of comedian Jon Hendren and his Twitter feed, you can see all the whines and complaints from people who didn’t the iPhones, iPad, even cars, they expected on Christmas morning. Here are a few choice tweets of the many that Hendren found:
No iPhone = total disappointment for Christmas :'(
I wanted a car, I got a computer. How's that for being born under a bad sign
I'm still depressed over the fact that my mom ordered the white iPhone 4S instead of the black one for me
Just cried for like 2 hours straight because I didn’t get a car #stubborn
No iPhone = total disappointment for Christmas
Am I the only one that didn’t get an iPhone?
According to TechCrunch, Hendren randomly started searching on Twitter and came across a litany of complaints from people and started retweeting them.
Hendren’s retweets got so much attention that songwriter Jonathan Mann turned the tweets into a song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CwwWqRV2RsI#! (Warning: there is an abundance of expletives in the song and tweets – in case your kids are by your computer.)
Some may have experienced their kids expressing disappointment over not getting something they really wanted on Christmas morning like the talking doll or handheld gaming system, but I’m guessing even they handled it much better than everyone who sent out these tweets.
