Picnics are a great way for families to spend time together, out in the open air. But if you're stumped on what to pack, we've put together a picnic menu your kids will love:
A fun take on the caprese salad. Using eight 10-inch wooden skewers, alternate threading 3 fresh bocconcini (bite-size mozzarella balls), 3 cherry tomatoes, and 3 fresh basil leaves. Snip off the pointy skewer tip before serving or make the skewers shorter to fit into a portable container.
Bye-bye, boring sandwiches! These little meat loaves are almost too cute to eat. But because they taste delicious at room temperature, they are a great item to pack if you're on-the-go. Perfect as finger-food, kids can dip them in ketchup with minimal mess. And if you're married to your bread, slice these up inside of a baguette and add a little marinara to make a yummy meatball sub.
These totally portable treats make a great substitute for a cupcake (frosting is messy!). Kids can even help make them by mixing the batter and spooning jam onto the cakes.
