In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup canned coconut milk, 1 cup maple syrup, and 2 Tbsp brown sugar. Simmer until well combined and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, dissolve 1 tsp cornstarch in 1 Tbsp water. Place cornstarch mixture, 1 cup maple syrup, and 2 Tbsp butter in a small saucepan. Simmer until thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans and a dash of cinnamon (if desired).
