Grand Slam Goodies: Baseball Cupcakes and More

Michael Kraus

Celebrate baseball season with these stadium-inspired kid snacks:

“Batter Up” Cakes

Prepare your favorite cake-mix recipe for cupcakes. Frost with store-bought vanilla frosting. Use decorative red icing or red licorice whips to form baseball “laces” on each cupcake.

Fruity Nachos

Layer cinnamon-sugar pita chips on a plate and top with chopped strawberries and kiwis. Make “cheese” by drizzling with melted white chocolate or white frosting thinned with a little milk.

Hot Dog Pops

Wrap cocktail-size turkey or veggie hot dogs in strips of store-bought crescent-roll or biscuit dough. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Insert a lollipop stick in each hot dog and serve with ketchup and mustard for dipping. If you can't find cocktail-size hot dogs, cut a regular one into thirds.
