You can't get something for nothing. When I signed up for Boot Camp, I was entering a contest to get financial help. What did that mean to me? A wad of money to pay off my existing bills and get a fresh start would have been great. (Hey, I am just being painfully honest--finally. I was losing my house, my stability and my bearings. My husband said I was a dreamer, that this was never going to happen. He urged me to drop out of this process from the beginning.)

So far this year we have succeeded on finding ways to save money! I have lessened the cable privileges. Cut out the perks on the cell phone. Spent less money weekly on groceries and gas. I have not used a credit card since December. My husband gave me his credit card, so he hasn't used it all month long! I am looking into changing some insurance policies to potentially save more money. I am happy with our changes.

I have two weeks of the Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University under my belt. I’m enjoying the class. Each class begins with a review of the previous week’s lesson and going over homework. Then on to the new stuff: We watch a video and then have a discussion about how the material relates to your life. Each class ends with new homework. I’m assigned certain chapters to read from Dave Ramsey's book which correspond with the video we watched in class.
