JD's Christmas Gifts: Installment 1 (Your Preschoolers Will Love Them Too!)
December 7, 2011
© Christine Coppa
Despite what Robin Robinson thinks, Santa is coming to our condo this year and he's real and we love him! After the jump, some pressies JD is getting this year, that I know your preschoolers will love too!
Innotab
We are big fans of Vtech. JD got a MobiGo last Christmas and plays/learns with it all of the time. It’s great for long car rides and when JD needs to have some quiet down time on the couch.
We’re upgrading to the Innotab this Christmas because JD is in full swing Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten starts this September. The Innotab has many interactive learning features including Interactive, E-Books—stories that come to life offering story narration, character voices, animation, vivid graphics, sounds and music. JD is already beginning to read so I’m excited for the Innotab to further encourage reading comprehension, vocabulary, phonics and word building. With Innotab, kids watch the words highlight and can touch individual words to hear them pronounced. Each e-book comes with a story dictionary offering word definitions that are easy for kids to comprehend and helps with the context of the story. Motion games are another cool feature—think learning video games. JD will control how he plays and develop the skills of using touch apps including tap, flick and drag-and-drop. Using the motion sensor JD can control the onscreen fun by turning, tilting and moving the tablet in different directions to manipulate the image on-screen. I’m most excited for the Creative Apps since JD loves art! The InnoTab learning tablet comes preloaded with a variety of fun apps that will allow JD to express his mega creativity. With the Color & Pop creative apps, he can color a picture and see how it magically comes to life in 3D! Other creative apps like Art Studio offers painting, coloring and drawing apps by touch or using the included stylus. For more on Innotab click here.
You also know that JD is getting a Batmobile and Batman—and that he uncovered the present in my closet last week. Good news is, he totally forgot about it. I re-hid it. Winning! For more info on the Batman toy click here.
Magic Model Presto Dots by Crayola
Don’t get me wrong, we love Play-Doh, but I really love Magic Model Presto Dots because they are mess-free. They are not sticky and warm and don’t get stuck in my carpet. Win! Click here for more info.
Keep reading Mama’s Boys to see the other age-appropriate presents he’ll be getting this Christmas. I’m not paid to endorse these products.
What is one thing your child is getting this year? Please share—maybe it's something I'll end up getting Mr. JD. :) xo
