Today is my last Mama’s Boy blog on parenting.com I had a fun, successful two years and leaving this blog feels bittersweet but right. In 2010 when I left glamour.com I had a mini meltdown. Glamour and glamour.com completely lifted me up and made me the writer and blogger I am today.
JD is 4, almost 5. Life is interesting these days. One minute he's a blond, wide-eyed angel, next he's a karate-chopping maniac with a 'tude. As a result, the following things come out of my mouth on a daily basis. Here goes (no shame)...
I count myself lucky that JD asks about his dad, but doesn’t cry or beg for him. He cries and begs for me. This is because he doesn’t know his Dad, I don’t bring him up and I provide a loving, safe modern family lifestyle. But this weekend at T-Ball I saw a fellow Mom struggling with a non-cooperating little boy and felt her pain.
I went out with my opposite sex friend the other night and naturally Carlo Jr. laced into me. But I didn’t care. Before I left, I played with JD, cooked a homemade meal, bathed and read to him. He was sleeping when I slipped out.
