Town Hall Meeting with Arne Duncan
November 4, 2011
© Kathryn Young Thompson
If you’re an Ohio resident and you’re passionate about education, please join Secretary of Education Arne Duncan for a town hall meeting on Wednesday, November 9th. Secretary Duncan will be joined by local advocate and 2010 Mom Congress delegate Emily Rempe for an open question and answer period from 6-7pm, co-hosted by Parenting Magazine's Mom Congress.
Topics will range from local issues effecting Cincinnati schools to national policy and education reform initiatives. It should prove to be a fascinating and informative evening and all are invited to attend.
The event will be held in the Mason Intermediate Elementary School cafeteria at 6307 South Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040. Please RSVP by November 7th to edtownhalls@ed.gov if you’re interested in attending.
With the Senate working to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and President Obama’s recent announcement of his new “Pay As You Earn” proposal that will reduce monthly payments for over a million college students and borrowers, there’s a lot to talk about.
Kathryn Thompson is a mom to two school-aged kids, a toddler and a deceased betta fish. She can also be found at The Parenting Post, DaringYoungMom.com and occasionally the gym.
