Last May, Parenting held the first-ever Mom Congress on Education and Learning conference—and, sister, did we moms get to work! Over the course of two days, our delegates shared, inspired, and created! The culmination of their collaboration, “Lesson Plan for Change,” was published in our October 2010 issue.
Now it's time to do even more! The second Mom Congress convenes April 10 to 13, 2011, with our educational provider, Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies, in Washington, DC. And we want you to be there (round-trip airfare and a three-night hotel stay are included). To enter, submit the following to scrapbook@parenting.com:
- A 300-word essay describing how you or someone you know has made a difference in the fight for better schools
- A photo of the nominee
- The name, phone number and e-mail address of a teacher or administrator from the nominee's school district who can serve as a personal reference.
- Entries must also include the nominee's full name, street address, phone number, e-mail address and the age of the nominee's children, in addition to the entrant's full name, street address, phone number and e-mail address, if the entrant is not nominating himself or herself.
Deadline to enter is January 31, 2011. So excited to hear from you!
