The cutest/hippest kids tee ever (that also happens to be for a great cause)

You know how tee shirts that support good causes are usually kind of…boring. Or bright. Or stiff. Or covered in logos you’re just not sure you want to sport? As you can see from the photos, this is not one of those tees (and as I can tell you from holding this tee, it is super soft, curl-up-in-my-arms cotton). The inspiration came from a two-year-old pediatric cancer patient, Milo, who lost his battle with leukemia last year. During his treatment his mom read him Dallas Clayton’s “An Awesome Book” (which is, in fact, an awesome book) every night. The message is to dream big and while Milo’s life was cut tragically short, the dream of a cure, of no more children suffering from these diseases, is still very much alive. And so to honor Milo’s life—and support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society—Clayton designed this “Victorious” tee for J. Crew. Isn’t it adorable?
As you guys know I’m a leukemia survivor and I devote a lot of my time to various cancer charities (specifically the LLS). I’m also a mother of two young children and I try to support whatever kid causes I can. Because I want Alex and Nora to grow up understanding the importance of giving back and of helping others. And because as challenging as they can be (wild and crazy doesn’t even begin to describe them these days), I feel like I am the luckiest person in the world. They’re healthy and happy and they’re here. What more could a mother ask for?
Back to the tee. It’s available nationwide in J.Crew stores and online (where the shipping fee is waived). It costs $25 and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. 100 percent! I know most kids tees cost $7.99 but I also know that most kids tees don’t do what this tee can. The money raised from the sale of the “Victorious” shirt will help patients be “victorious” over the disease. I am on the board of the New York City chapter of the LLS and I can tell you we are working tirelessly to fund research to beat these diseases and to support families while they’re facing the unthinkable. I’ll be buying a 2T and a 5T today and I hope you’ll consider getting one for your kids. Or for another kid. I think this would make a perfect birthday present, don’t you? (Print out this post and wrap it up with the tee so they know the back story!) Either way, check it out if you can. Thanks!

This is the back of the tee. Love it!
