Katy Perry's "Sexy" Performance Cut from Sesame Street

Katy Perry has made a career out of singing flirty (and dangerously catchy) pop songs in pinup-style getups. She's a big hit on the music charts, but is she is too hot for kid TV?
Sesame Workshop, the company that produces the classic children's television show, has pulled the pop singer's skit from broadcast after a preview clip posted on YouTube received angry comments from parents.
Perry performed a remix of her 2008 hit "Hot N Cold" with Elmo as part of Sesame Street's 41st season, swapping the original song's lovelorn lyrics with a kid-friendly theme. Her outfit? A lime green mini dress with a revealing neckline that many parents think is inappropriate for a show geared toward preschoolers.
"Sesame Street has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult. We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver," show producers said in a statement. "In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street."
Watch the video below, and tell us what you think. Is her outfit too risque for a children's show?
