The fertility doctor responsible for implanting infamous "Octomom" Nadya Suleman with 12 embryos will have his medical license revoked, the Medical Board of California ruled this week.
Three years ago, Dr. Michael Kamrava assisted Suleman, an unemployed single mom who already had six children, in conceiving octuplets. Kamrava has since apologized and acknowledged that he should have referred Suleman for a mental health evaluation rather than continuing IVF treatments.
The board found that Kamrava did not “exercise sound judgment” and "committed gross negligence, repeated negligent acts, and incompetence." Effective July 1st, Kamrava will be banned from practicing medicine, a more severe punishment than the five-year probation a judge originally recommended.
What do you think of the ruling?
