We asked you to send us pics of your babe's gummy grin and pretty pout. Our editors teamed up with Good Morning America Digital to pore through 15,000 contest entries looking for the next big—well, technically small—thing. One special tot emerged as the winner. After the closest race in the contest's history (only 48 votes separated the winner from the runner up), we present our 2010 cover baby…
Is it her eyes? Her smile? Her blond hair streaked with natural red highlights? Just what makes a baby a “cover baby”? From the minute the Babytalk editors saw a photograph of slyly smiling strawberry blonde Isla Grace Schultz, we were smitten by her classic beauty.
Isla entered the photo studio quietly, never raising a fuss as lights flashed around her and strangers dressed her in clothes provided by JCPenney. As soon as she hit the set and the camera started clicking, Isla flashed her perfectly sweet grin wedged between the most perfectly plump cheeks again and again for our jovial photographer, Denis Horan, and zany baby wrangler, Gerri Britton.
In fact, all eight semifinalists showed up in the Big Apple ready for their close-ups. Finalist Bryce Allen was a natural in front of the camera, working it like a pint-sized supermodel. As for finalist River Charles, not even a new cast on his leg could slow him down—or keep him from laughing it up during his shoot.
Congratulations, Isla! We know your parents already think you're a star, and now we do, too. And to all our cover-contest contestants: Mwah! You're gorgeous! Don't you forget it.
