Father of 30 Asks Court for Child-Support Relief

Every child is a blessing—and one man from Tennessee has particularly taken that old saying to heart. Desmond Hatchett has fathered 30 children with 11 different women, according to the Huffington Post—a record in his county! His oldest is 14 years old and the youngest is just a toddler.

How does one go about fathering such a prodigious brood? Desmond had four kids in the same year, twice! Not surprisingly, supporting that many children has proved to be difficult—especially on Desmond’s minimum wage salary. To make ends meet, he has asked the court to give him a break on his child support payments. Half of his income is currently divided among the 11 women, with some receiving only $1.49 a month.
