Parents are encouraged to accompany their kids when classes resum on January 3. Chalk Hill School, a former middle school, will act as a temporary venue for the Sandy Hook children. School officials have tried to entirely re-create classrooms in order to make the transition as comfortable as possible for the students. The therapy dogs that were brought into Newtown after the shooting will also be on site at the school to comfort children.

"We recognize your needs are paramount in our preparations and planning.
