Kids and parents at Nottingham’s Cineworld movie theater received a shock earlier this week when a mix-up in the projection room led to a screening of the fourth Paranormal Activity film rather than the expected kids’ flick, Madagascar 3.

“It opens on the most terrifying scene in the first film - where a body shoots full pelt towards the camera. It's enough to make grown men jump, so you can imagine the terror in these young faces,” said Natasha Lewis, a mom who took her son to see what she thought would be Madagascar.

Only about two minutes of the horror flick were shown, but it was enough to send hysterical kids and furious parents running for the exits. A spokesman for the movie theater said, “We have investigated the incident and can confirm that this was a technical error with the projector and apologise sincerely to the families.”
The 25 families in the theater were offered refunds and bonus movie tickets, but some are still furious at the mix-up. “It was enough to scar them for life,” said Natasha. “The cinema needs to check the film before sending everyone in so they don't make this mistake again. I'm disgusted about it, mistakes like this simply should not happen.”
