Identical Twins Give Birth on the Same Day
July 26, 2012
For one set of identical twins, sharing a birthday now has double meaning…or make that triple? In what is either evidence of twin telepathy or maybe just the ultimate coincidence, twins Zaakira Mitchell and Shaakira White of South Carolina went into labor and gave birth just hours apart, reports wbtv.com.
According to the sisters, they didn’t conspire to get pregnant at the same time. "Everybody asks did we plan this?" said Zaakira Mitchell. "That's the most common question. No, we didn't!"
While the sisters’ due dates were a month apart, prompting them to seek out the same doctor, Mother Nature had different plans. No one was more surprised than Dr. James Ferguson, when both sisters arrived in labor on Tuesday morning. The coincidences don’t stop there however. An hour after Zaakira welcomed her son Kadin, Shaakira gave birth to fraternal twins, London and Landon. (It must be a twin thing!)
The sisters are looking forward to watching their children grow up together and hopefully share the same special bond that they did. "I can't wait to see them grow up together and share the experience," said Mitchell.

Best wishes to Zaakira and Shaakira and their families!
