Glenmark Generics Recalls 7 Lots of Birth Control Pills
February 27, 2012

On the heels of the massive Pfizer birth control recall, the FDA announced that Glenmark Generics has recalled seven lots of Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets USP, 0.18 mg/0.035 mg, 0.215 mg/0.035 mg, 0.25 mg/0.035 mg. A packaging error occurred which caused the pills to be packaged out of sequence. While the packaging errors do not cause any health risks, this could leave women vulnerable to unintended pregnancy; those affected by this recall should use a non-hormonal birth control method as backup.
Here is a list of lot numbers and expiration dates affected by this recall:
Lot Nos Expiration
04110101 07/31/2013
04110106 07/31/2013
04110107 07/31/2013
04110114 08/31/2013
04110124 08/31/2013
04110129 08/31/2013
04110134 09/30/2013
If the lot number or expiry date is not visible on the blister pack, it is included in this recall.
If you have these recalled birth control pills, notify your doctor and take them to the pharmacy to return them. For additional questions consumers can contact Glenmark at (888)721-7115 (8 AM to 5 PM Mon-Fri EST).
