Google Predicts Worst Flu Season Yet

Have you gotten your child her flu shot yet? Google has been tracking flu season trends since 2006 - and 2013 is looking to be the worst year yet.

Searches around flu have spiked to the highest point ever since Google started tracking data, reports Mashable. And there is a strong correlation between regional flu-related Google searches and actual real-life flu activity. The trend line shows a dramatic uptick of flu-related searches for December 2012. Meaning, the flu is coming whether you're ready or not:

The CDC says that the best way to prevent getting the flu is with a flu shot, as well as covering your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough and washing your hands often.
