Get your tissues ready for this story. On January 16, two weeks before her delivery date, Diane Aulger learned the terrible news that her husband Mark, who had been battling colon cancer, had only days to live. His dying wish: to meet his unborn daughter, reported the AP.

Aulger had been planning a natural birth for her baby, who was due on January 29. But when she spoke to her doctor, who suggested an induction (Aulger had been experiencing pre-labor symptoms at this point), she scheduled it for January 18 and gave birth to the couple's daughter in a hospital room she shared with her husband.
Aulger's husband was able to hold his daughter for 45 minutes the day she was born, but in the few days after he was so tired he could only hold her for a minute at a time. On January 21 he fell into a coma and died two days later.

"I brought [our daughter] home the night before he fell into the coma. It was just me and Savannah when he passed away," Diane Aulger said. Aulger also has two children, 10 and 7, with her late husband. "We're living day-to-day as if Dad's still here," she said. "We know Dad is here with us. They talk to Dad. Mark was a very funny, funny dad."
