Toddler Cusses on Tonight's Modern Family

As carefully as you try to watch your language around your kids, inevitably they're going to end up dropping a four-letter word—on purpose or by accident—at one point or another. Tonight's episode of ABC's Modern Family hits on this milestone when Lily, a toddler, drops the f-bomb in a wedding scene, and her shocked parents have to deal with the aftermath.
Plus: Cures for Cussing
One group finds this storyline less than amusing, though. The AP reports that McKay Hatch, founder of the No Cussing Club in a bullying prevention effort, strongly opposes the episode and has asked ABC not to air it. "Our main goal is to stop this from happening," Hatch told the AP. "If we don't, at least ABC knows that people all over the world don't want to have a 2-year-old saying the 'F-bomb' on TV." It should be noted that the actress playing Lily said "fudge" during the taping, and it will be bleeped out on air.
Plus: The 8 Discipline Mistakes Parents Make
Steven Levitan, creator and executive producer of the sitcom, told EW.com that the storyline is very natural: "As parents, we've all been through this," he said.
What's your take on this episode—and how did you handle your kid's first cuss word?
