Seven-year-old Bobby Montoya, from Denver, CO, self-identifies as a girl, dressing like one and playing with girls' toys. But when Bobby wanted to do as many girls do and join Girl Scouts, the troop leader said no.
Plus: Could your child be gay?
Montoya's mother Felisha questioned the troop leader by asking what the big deal was, and she said the troop leader responded that it didn't matter if Bobby dressed or acted like a girl--he still had "boy parts" and thus couldn't become a Girl Scout. Bobby cried when he heard that he couldn't join.
The Girl Scouts of Colorado later rescinded their answer, and said in a statement that they are "an inclusive organization", and that "if a child identifies as a girl and the child's family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout."

So will Bobby Montoya join Girl Scouts? His grandmother Rose Archuleta told the New York Daily News that her daughter "will never take him back to join that Girl Scout troop."
Plus: What to expect when puberty hits

What's your reaction to Bobby Montoya's story? Do you think he should have been allowed in Girl Scouts? Should Boy and Girl Scouts continue to be separate groups?
