Emily French, a 20-year-old Scottish woman, passed her driver's test just in time—to drive herself to the hospital to give birth, that is.

French, whose due date was a month away, woke up around 4 a.m. on the day of her driver's test to discover her water had broken. But instead of going to the hospital she decided to hold out for the test, which was scheduled for 8:40 a.m. French told the UK's Daily Mirror: "Everyone was telling me to go to the hospital but I had waited so long for my driving test, I was determined to do it."

After taking the 45-minute test—during which her contractions were 10 minutes apart—French put her newly-earned license to use and drove to the hospital to give birth. "One good thing about being in labor that day—it really killed my pre-test nerves," said French.

I'm half impressed and half horrified by this tale. Do you think French was totally crazy to take her driver's test while in labor? Did you try to get things done while you were in labor?
