Congratulations Abbey Busch, the first of six weekly winners for the Babytalk Show Us Your Nursery photo contest! Have you entered yet? You have until June 30 to enter your baby’s room for a chance to win weekly prizes or the grand prize of design services and more from Little Crown Interiors—and be featured in the pages of Babytalk Magazine!
Abbey’s design inspiration:
“The sex of my baby was a surprise, so I chose a gender-neutral nature theme. I wanted it to be eclectic & colorful. I hand-cut each blade of grass, leaf, sun and cloud from vintage wallpapers found in antique shops and markets. I used over 700 blades of grass; it was a labor of love! I applied everything (including myself!!) with wallpaper paste. I hand painted the tree and found animals made of printed fabrics from Etsy to accent the walls. I documented the process with photos; it took me 6 months to complete.”
What the designers from Little Crown Interiors had to say:
A gender-neutral nursery is one of the most challenging tasks for new parents, and this room turned out beautifully. Blue is a fantastic, versatile choice that we at Little Crown Interiors applaud. The meticulously detailed, hand-cut vintage wallpaper work is absolutely stunning and will serve as a beautiful reminder of the excitement and anticipation this mother-to-be felt while waiting for the arrival of her little one. We love the three-dimensional look of the clouds and the creative placement of top-hats on the birds. Brava!
Nursery design tip:
Save a little space for a personalized item once the baby is born. An Artist Touch Photo Panel from AllPopArt.com would be perfect for this room.
