For most three-year-olds, painting is a hobby, not a lifeline—but for little Liam Myrick of House Springs, Missouri, making art is part of his fight for his life, reports WILX.

Liam was diagnosed with stage four Neuroblastoma last summer, after doctors found a tumor on top of his kidney. To make matters worse, Liam’s 6-year-old sister Natalie had already been diagnosed with an unrelated cancer; fortunately it is currently in remission.

After undergoing chemotherapy and a bone marrow stem cell transplant, Liam has had to stay at the Missouri Children’s Hospital, where he enjoys passing the time by painting. To help defray the more than $500,000 in medical expenses, his parents are auctioning Liam’s work through Facebook.
