Video: A 'Thank You' from Your Baby

Sniffle, sniffle. One of the hardest things about new motherhood, for me at least, was doing so much for my baby without much acknowledgement from him. It’s all take and no give with newborns, you know? Sure, the fact that he was still alive meant that I was doing something right, but it’s not like anyone was saying thanks or patting me on the back for middle-of-the-night nursing sessions or endless diaper changes. It got better as he learned to smile, and even better as he learned to speak. And now I get lots of I love you’s and You’re the best mom in the whole world’s, thankfully. But back then, in those first weeks and months, well, not that I did any of it looking for thanks, but I’d hope that if I could have peeked into my baby’s mind, I would have heard something like this:
“I think this is a good time to tell you you’re doin’ OK, Mom… I know we haven’t known each other very long, but you seem like a real keeper… I want you to know how much I appreciate you. You know, right? How much I love you? You’re doin’ OK, Mom.”
Check out this tissue-worthy video from JOHNSON'S Baby for Mother’s Day, recognizing moms for the awesome job they do Every. Single. Day. And if you’re up for it, please share the video—the company will donate $50,000 to Save the Children once they reach 500,000 views!
If your baby could talk, what do you think she’d tell you?
