The Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with KidCo Inc., of Libertyville, IL, is announcing the voluntary recall of around 220,000 PeaPod and PeaPod Plus Travel Beds. Babies and toddlers can roll off the edge of the inflatable mattress, becoming trapped between it and the fabric sides of the tent, where they can suffocate.
A 5-month-old boy died while sleeping in the travel bed. There are also nine other reports of “physical distress” linked to use of the beds in the US and Canada.
