Children’s Benadryl Recall (Again)
November 23, 2010

More kid meds recall news: Johnson & Johnson’s McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling about 4 million units of Children's BENADRYL® Allergy FASTMELT® Tablets, in cherry and grape flavors. The company is also recalling all lots of Junior Strength MOTRIN® Caplets. This comes after a major J&J children’s medicine recall in May. Is there anything left in the kid aisle at the pharmacy at this point?
Get a full list of the recalled products, including lot numbers.
This is a wholesale and retail recall. According to the company website, no action is required by consumers and they can continue to use the product. Says the manufacturer: “The recall was initiated after a review, conducted as part of McNeil's Comprehensive Action Plan, revealed insufficiencies in the development of the manufacturing process. There is no indication that the recalled products do not meet quality standards, and this recall is not being undertaken on the basis of adverse events.” That’s not at all confusing.
