Huge Mango Recall

We told you earlier this week that mangos from Mexico had been linked to a Salmonella outbreak, with more than 100 illnesses in the U.S. and Canada. Now up to a million of the fruits have officially been recalled by the FDA, the California Department of Public Health and grower Splendid Products.

The affected mangos have a Daniella brand sticker with one of the following PLU numbers: 3114, 4051, 4311, 4584 or 4959. The mangoes were sold across the country between July 12 and August 29 at stores like Costco, Save Mart Supermarkets, Food 4 Less, Ralph's, Topco stores, El Super, Kroger, Giant-Eagle, Stop & Shop, Aldi, and Whole Foods.

Mangos should be thrown away. If you have a mango with no sticker, experts recommend tossing it as a precaution.

Salmonella poisoning can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, fever and headache. It is especially dangerous to people with weakened immune systems, children and the elderly.
