Nursing in Public – Should Moms Cover Up?
June 21, 2010

Let’s get this straight:
1. New moms are encouraged to breastfeed, since breast is best.
2. Infants eat every two hours – or more!
3. You’re going to need to leave the house for more than two hours at some point.
1 + 2 + 3 = eventually you’ll have to nurse in public.
Kim Kardashian – hardly known for being modest herself – has taken to Twitter to express her disgust over a baby eating her lunch next to where Kardashian was eating hers:
“EWW Im at lunch, the woman at the table next 2 me is breast feeding her baby w no coverup then puts baby on the table and changes her diaper”
We’re with her on table diaper change (that is an EWW), but the nursing? Cover-ups don’t work for everyone, or sometimes you forget it, and baby’s gotta eat. And we’ve seen enough boobage from Kardashian to make us wonder exactly what she finds so offensive.
(Side note: a photo of a nursing infant on the Babytalk cover caused a stir when it was published in 2006. Guess things haven't changed much since then. Sigh.)
What do you think: should nursing moms always cover up?
