Recall: Nap Nanny Baby Recliners
December 27, 2012

We hope Santa didn’t leave this baby gift under your tree. Four major retailers—Amazon.com, Buy Buy Baby, Diapers.com and Toys R Us/Babies R Us—along with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, have announced a voluntary recall of more than 150,000 Nap Nanny baby recliners, which have been blamed for the deaths of at least five infants. The CPSC has also received 70 reports of babies nearly falling out. This recall includes the Nap Nanny Generations One and Two, as well as the Chill model.
Manufacturer Baby Matters and the CPSC originally recalled the Generation One model in July 2010, improving the written instructions for the Generation Two model. However, the CPSC continued to receive reports that the recliner presented a hazard to babies, even when the harness is used. Earlier this month, the CPSC announced they were suing Baby Matters for not recalling the product themselves.
