Not that I am bitter, but let me just put it out there: I did not receive a push gift after the birth of either of my children, even though baby #2 involved 9 weeks of bed rest. I kind of think that last one rated as a gift-giving occasion, but whatever. We’ll see if you ever get that electric guitar you’ve been hinting at, honey.

I think a push gift, especially something personal but not necessarily super-pricey, like these pieces of chic mom jewelry, is a super-sweet way to acknowledge the hard work of pregnancy and childbirth. But some people think the baby should be gift enough, and that the notion of a push present is crass.
