Is Your Pediatrician a Hero?

Choosing a pediatrician is one of the first major decisions expectant parents must make for their child. Whose advice and expertise would you trust when your child is running a fever or complaining of stomach pain? Who would you trust when your normally healthy child all of a sudden just isn’t himself? Who goes beyond strictly office-hours availability and makes you feel like you have an advocate for your child’s health?

We’re looking for “Pediatric Heroes,” those doctors who change lives by providing exceptional care for patients and parents, speaking up for the underprivileged and underserved, and making a commitment to children as well as to lifelong learning. Know someone deserving? Tell us about him or her in 300 words at parenting.com/heroes or by emailing heroes@babytalk.com. After a nomination is entered, enter again for the chance to win a $250 gift card!

Editors of the Parenting Group (Parenting and Babytalk) will choose seven pediatricians to be recognized during a VIP reception at the 2012 American Academy of Pediatrics annual Conference October 20-23 in New Orleans and will be featured in an article in the November issue of Babytalk magazine, in addition to receiving a $1,000 donation toward the children’s health research initiative of their choice.

The contest ends on May 31st, so enter your pediatrician now!
