2009 Halloween Costume Contest: Round 14

"My daughter has always come up with original ideas on costumes. She has been a plate of mashed potatoes, a toothbrush and this year, she had her heart set on being the Empire State Building. We checked out a few books from the library, read up on the construction of the building and its history and then set about making the costume. Armed with a few boxes, paper towel rolls, tape, glue, utility knife and a picture, the costume started to take shape. We used a fleck stone paint on top of gray paint to give it a stone texture and added King Kong and a plane circling the top of the building. Fay Wray would have been proud of it!"
