How Can My Child Become a Model?
Parenting Magazine photo editor Miriam Hsia tells us what it takes to be a cover baby model
|
Model Meltdowns
It isn't always fun and games. A typical photo shoot can last up to two hours; between the teething, stranger anxiety and missed nap schedules, even the experienced kids can dissolve into meltdowns. Think about it -- if your child doesn't like being stared at by a literal wall of unfamiliar adults, sitting still, or changing in and out of clothes all day, baby modeling may not be right for her. "What parents don't realize is how much hard work it is for them. Having a child model becomes a full-time job," says Miriam.
She says that kids with older siblings tend to do well because they're used to being roughhoused. But well-socialized kids can succeed, too. In fact, our Beautiful Baby Search winner, Ella, is an only child.
