In June a 2 1/2-year-old autistic boy was kicked off an American Eagle flight after what parent company American Airlines labeled a pre-takeoff "raging fit" (aka typical toddler meltdown) by the child. Do we now have to pay extra for sensitivity to kids with special needs? Weeks later, radio shock jock Michael Savage suggested that autistic children be told, "Don't sit there crying and screaming, you idiot." We say: Who's the screaming idiot? Adding to the stupidity, actor Denis Leary (right) reportedly titled a chapter in his new book (not released at press time) "Autism Shmautism."
