Stay-at-home strain
Staying on top of it all is Tara Van Den Heuvel's daily struggle. Starting at 6 a.m., she rushes around chasing after Brody, 3, and Charlotte, 15 months, jetting Cade, 5, to kindergarten and back, and trying to fit in chores. Evenings, she and husband Ron collapse in front of the TV and fall asleep by 11.
Stress points:
1. Day-to-day chores and childcare overload
2. Longer-term projects fall by the wayside.
3. Without close friends or relatives available, there's no help.
