Morning sickness
Believe it or not, one recommended treatment is exactly what you don't have in mind right now: eating. Nausea appears to peak when the stomach is empty, so doctors usually advise sufferers to eat frequent small meals. Bland snacks (rice cakes, saltines, pretzels) can help, too. Keep a stash on your nightstand to nibble on in the morning -- then wait 15 to 20 minutes before rising. Ginger is another known queasiness-buster. Sip ginger ale, grate it fresh in tea, or try ginger candy or cookies. What not to do: take motion-sickness or nausea medications without your doctor's okay.
