    Bake batter in three glass bowls (two 12-oz, one quart). Create body by flipping over one of the 12-oz cakes and placing the second 12-oz cake on top. Spread frosting and add third cake on top for head. Roll out 1/2 lb fondant and use a small leaf cookie cutter ($11; amazon.com) to create feathers. Frost the cake and add rows of feathers. Shape feet and beak from gum paste. Make the eyes with fondant circles.
