How to Make a Caterpillar Bento Lunch Box

  • Get the full effect of this many-footed creature using two bento containers.

Antichoking warning: Remember to remove toothpicks and cut up blueberries, grapes, carrots and other food for children under 4. See our Antichoking guide for more information.

  • You can dot the caterpillar with mini cheese circles, and stick edamame on uncooked pasta for caterpillar antennae.

  • Crisp celery slices make the perfect caterpillar feet.
  • You can make the caterpillar segments with anything that can fit into a mini round size: meatballs, mashed potatoes, mini quiches, mac and cheese, and cut up fruit or veggies with dip are a few options.
  • Tuck in ham flowers (here's a step-by-step photo guide on how to make them) and serve with colorful berries, or any fruit.
