The lion's face is made with a kiddie fave standby: Mac and cheese. Arrange the noodles to make a "mane".
Antichoking warning: Remember to remove toothpicks and cut up blueberries, grapes, carrots and other food for children under 4. See our Antichoking guide for more information.
To make the lion's face, cut up cheese circles with small cookie cutters and small celery strips for whiskers. Let you kid decorate his own lion face.
- Cut celery and carrots in strips and serve with a cup of peanut butter on the side. Swap out the PB for hummus, ranch dressing, yogurt or your kid's favorite dip.
- Spearing alternate colored grape halves make a fun fruit kabob, but you can have your kid pick out their favorite colors and flavors. Have older kids mix and match their own.
The lion bento is made with a mini baked omelet, but you can use mashed potatoes, a meatball or any leftovers you've got on hand that will fit into a mini cup.
