Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do to prevent autism spectrum disorders. More and more research is linking these disorders to genetic factors that are beyond your control. Still, it’s wise to minimize unnecessary risks by avoiding smoking, alcohol or drug use while trying to conceive and while pregnant, and by consuming a healthy, balanced diet and taking prenatal vitamins throughout pregnancy.
