Name of my story Andrew's Day of Adventure

Who is the story about? Andrew the Alligator

Description Andrew is a young alligator that likes to explore everything, just like the older animals.

Who else is in the story? Sara the Squirrel, Peter the Puppy, Ralph the Rabbit

Where are they? The four animals are outside playing in the fall leaves near the edge of the forest.

What are they doing? Andrew keeps trying to tag along with the older animals and do what they do. The older animals are trying to make a pile of leaves so they can play in them. However, every time they pile some leaves, Andrew pushes them over.

Why are they doing that? Sara, Peter, and Ralph are all getting frustrated because they want to play but Andrew keeps interrupting. So Ralph tells Andrew to stop and go away. Andrew is sad and begins to cry.

What happens to everyone? Sara feels bad that Andrew is sad and talks to the other older animals about including Andrew. Sara says she has a younger brother that always wants to be like her, and as the older sister she has to help him play in the group. Peter and Ralph agree, and they apologize to Andrew. They all work together to create the biggest pile of leaves possible and then enjoy the rest of the afternoon playing together.

What's your favorite part of the story? I think having kids realize the relationship between older and younger siblings and the idea that younger kids are just trying to "be like their older siblings". It's nice in the end when the older kids look out for the younger ones and they all play together.

What would you build out of LEGO® DUPLO® blocks to bring your story to life? My kids would build the animals and also create a "pile of leaves" using Duplos. They would enjoy pushing the animals through the Duplo leaves.
