What happens to everyone? When I was little I thought everyone loved to fish as much as I did. Almost everyday during the summer my dad would take my sister and me down to our beach to fish. At first, it was a bit tricky to cast without getting all knotty, but after a couple of times I was doing OK, although I couldn’t cast as far as my dad could. He said it really didn’t matter – that you could catch big fish close in or little fish far out – it was mostly up to the fish and a lot of luck but your line had to be in the water or you wouldn’t catch anything. One day on our way fishing we saw a man on the beach with tools, lots of wood and metal, and drawings with numbers. I asked the man what he was doing. , “I am going to catch a fish as big as a bus.” he said without looking up. “Wow!” I thought about the big yellow bus I take to school and it’s huge. I haven’t even made it all the way to the back because you have to be in the third grade to sit there – or so the third graders say. I imagined what a big yellow school-bus-fish would look like and it was pretty funny. I told the man that my dad and me catch fish just about every day but never one as big as a bus but it was still fun. “How are you going to catch a fish as big as a school bus?” I asked, but he was too busy to hear. Each day I would ask if he caught that fish as big as a school bus he would say no and was always too busy building or banging or drawing. One day he was just sitting looking at his watch. I thought he had caught that fish as big as a school bus. But he said “no, just waiting for more supplies.” I told him he should do his waiting fishing ‘cause it’s a lot more fun that way. So my sister gave him an extra pole and after a just few casts he was on to a fish. As the fish pulled and splashed about, the man yelled, with a giant smile on his face, “Holy cow, this fish must be as big as a school bus!”
