Who is the story about? Gus the sailboat
Description Gus is a sailboat that hasn't been out for a sail in a long time because he is in disrepair.
Who else is in the story? The creatures on the shore that will help Gus. Ted the crab, Lou the seagull, and Oliver the turtle
Where are they? They are on a beach near the shore. It is a sunny day and everything sparkles except Gus.
What are they doing? Gus is sad because he hasn't sailed in so long. All he wants is to be in the water to feel the wind in his sails, and waves on his hull. The other creatures notice he is sad and begin to bring him presents from the beach.
Why are they doing that? Ted cuts pieces of seaweed to make patches for the sail. Lou finds driftwood to patch a hole in the boat. Oliver uses his strong jaw to cut off all the debris from the boat. When they are done Gus looks brand new.
What happens to everyone? Gus has a wonderful time sailing again and realizes how nice it is to have good friends. His friends enjoy watching Gus and knowing that they helped someone they care about.
What's your favorite part of the story? We spend the summer's at the beach and my boys love it! I used their names and like to imagine them playing together and helping one another at the water's edge.
What would you build out of LEGO® DUPLO® blocks to bring your story to life? We will build the creatures first and they can help to build the boat like in the story.
