Who is the story about? A busy mother and all of her children
Description This is a story is told by a 5-year-old boy and is about a mother who is very busy taking care of her children. This mother finds that she could always use more than just the two arms she has. The story describes all the things this mom could do if she had 8 arms like an octopus.
Who else is in the story? The three active children of this mother
Where are they? Here, there, and everywhere, just like any busy mother is: At home, at school, in the car, at the soccer field, at the music class and swimming lessons...
What are they doing? If my mommy was an octopus, she could drive in her car while giving us snacks and she could even reach toys and pacifiers that have fallen on the floor. If my mommy was an octopus, she could do the homework with the big kids while building a tower out of Legos with the little brother. She could even clean the whole house while holding the sleeping baby and could carry all the grocery bags inside the house at once. If my mommy was an octopus, traveling would be so much easier. Mom could carry all the luggage, the tickets, and still push the baby's stroller. If my mommy was an octopus, she could hug us all at the same time and no one would have to wait their turn.
Why are they doing that? They are just like any family trying to take care of everyone and finding that an extra set of hands could be really helpful at times.
What happens to everyone? Octopus mommy would have lots more time to play with her children, because all the chores would get done so much faster.
What's your favorite part of the story? That the little brother doesn't have to wait his turn to play with mommy, because she has some extra arms available at all times.
What would you build out of LEGO® DUPLO® blocks to bring your story to life? An big octopus (mommy) with 8 arms and three little octopuses (her children). Then, I would build their house, their car, and their school and all the places the family always visit.
