Who is the story about? Stevie
Description Stevie loves learning about science. He loves testing out experiments. He loves nature. His classmates see him as a loner and a weirdo.
Who else is in the story? Other kids. A neighbor (a girl) Petunia.
Where are they? Often in Stevie's backyard
What are they doing? Petunia watches on as Stevie reads books and then puts things to the test. His parents are very supportive, but other kids just laugh. Petunia has a curiosity though.
Why are they doing that? Because it is Stevie's passion. And because Petunia likes that he has an interest in something and doesn't seem to know that kids mock him. She wants to have an interest too.
What happens to everyone? One of Stevie's experiments is very cool and other kids can't help but want to see more. Little by little, they start to drop by his backyard. By now, Petunia is fully involved and she acts kind of as the spokesperson, bringing excitment.
What's your favorite part of the story? When Stevie realizes he has a friend (petunia)
